They say that a journey begins with a single step. Well it was exactly 95 years ago in a small village in Switzerland where Baden Powell’s dream of having the permanent mini jamboree. This would be the place where scouts from all over the world can come together and celebrate the unity of scouting movement in Kandersteg.

This is where my journey starts, at the beginning of June to when I first arrived at the permanent mini jamboree.

The Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is literally the place where dreams become reality.  I was one of the first summer staff members to arrive on site and see how the centre ran. It was quite amazing to see a world scout centre being runned by scouts under 35 from all over the world. As soon as I walked in through the front door I was immersed in the Scouting spirit. So it was very clear that the spring staff members set the bar high for standards and quality of service for everything at KISC.
